Jeffrey Dorsey

Jeff Dorsey began his tenure with McClatchy in September 2020, when he joined as the senior vice president of transformation. As chief operating officer, Jeff Dorsey leads all aspects of the company’s transformation efforts with a keen focus on value creation, and ensuring business strategies and initiatives are aligned across the organization.

A versatile senior executive with experience leading innovative start-ups and large-scale established organizations, Jeff is recognized for providing stabilizing, collaborative leadership, particularly during times of disruption. An impactful mentor to emerging leaders, he’s also known for increasing employee engagement through positive and open communications.

Prior to joining McClatchy, Jeff had already built a storied career of success during his 15-year stint at the Tribune Company, where he served in various roles, including senior vice president of technology and chief information officer. During that time, he led some of the company’s most complex projects focused on optimizing operations and consolidating technology organizations across print, digital, and broadcast.

Jeff holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Purdue University. He also serves on several non-profit and for-profit boards.
