With over two decades of experience in the media industry, Chuck Howell brings extensive expertise and proven leadership to his role as president and chief operating officer of the McClatchy Retail Network. His dedication to driving growth and operational success, combined with his expertise in sourcing and supply chain management, positions him well to lead the transformation efforts of the company.

Since joining the company in 2022 as executive vice president of corporate sourcing, Howell quickly advanced to chief operating officer, driving transformative initiatives in procurement and operations to drive partner value and operational efficiency.

Throughout his career, Howell has held executive positions spanning consumer marketing, newsstand and production operations, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management. His diverse background has enabled him to build high-performing, collaborative teams committed to excellence. Recognized for his action-oriented mindset and critical thinking skills, Howell consistently delivers value by optimizing cost savings, while enhancing partnerships with suppliers, retailers, and other stakeholders.

Howell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Northern Iowa.
